November 20, 2008 Must have QUICKTIME to view. GET IT HERE God has accomplished Much this last summer for the Mi Hogar Orphanage! The walls and the roof are up for the east wing. the kitchen is useable now and we have the caretakers moved into the little room on the premisis for the winter. God has supplied our needs as we had faith for every step of the project. Many wonderful teams of people from around the country including Youth Works and our own Masters Commission team from First Assembly of God in Las Cruces came this summer and did a fantastic job putting up the buildings, walls and rebar. We also got he roof on the kitchen and the entire east wing. We look forward to working with these teams again this next year 2009. We are trusting that God will provide all the funds, workers and finances to complete this orphanage by this next winter. God Bless you all for your support. Rescuing the Captive Children Board
June 22, 08 Must have QUICKTIME to view. GET IT HERE Praise God! We now have the footings and the cement flooring slab poured for the foundation of the SE Wing! A work team from Minnesota came for a week to work on the footings and the foundation and it is now complete. Our donations page is starting to bring in some money to pay for supplies and bricks and we now have enough to get started on the walls of the SE wing. A team from Texas is coming in 2 weeks to start the building of the walls and thanks to you; we have enough bricks to begin the work. We still need lots more bricks but this is a start.
Our team went to the Orphanage project last weekend and assembled a 360 degree walk through tour of the whole property and set up. You can view it by clicking here. we put together 24 360 locations around the project. the School you see is the School across the street that the Orphans will be attending. It seems like the momentum is building and things are finally starting to speed up a bit and that is great news! Don’t stop now! Please donate whatever you can to help us build the Mi Hogar Orphanage. We need Bricks, Doors, Double paned windows, Air conditioning units, Beds, Plumbing supplies, etc.. The list goes on! Together we can help Orphans in Juarez have a better life! May 27, 08 The steel beams for the kitchen area are now complete. We have torn down the shanty house and dug the foundation for the west wing. We are trying to schedule the footings to be poured but will first need to put in proper plumbing. After the plumbing is completed, the footing will be poured then the slab. There is a team of 15 volunteers coming after this for a week to build the walls. We have created a "buy a brick" campaign to try and get funds to buy all the bricks. The Blocks cost about $1.00 each.
April 2, 08 Right now, we have completed the first floor of the kitchen area and are putting a steel beam roof on that will serve as the floor for the second story. After this we will demolish the shanty house next to the kitchen to make room for the west wing to be built. The steel roof structure is being put on as i write this but the actual form and roof cannot be completed without more funds. We trust God for every dollar that we get to put towards the building of this Orphanage and now we need money to complete the roof. We estimate it will take approximately another 2500.00 to complete the steel roof. |
